Technically, game testers job requires reporting of software glitches called bugs to the programmers who are in the process of writing codes for these complex programs. Initially, a game tester was responsible for catching and reporting buys in the complex programs, but now these professional are also entrusted to give their key inputs in developing and analyzing the game environment from user’s point of view. No wonders, the job entails sitting for long hours and going through rigorous tests so as to make a game bug free. Fierce competition combined with gaming enthusiasts ever increasing demand for more and more real life scenario games , the role of a game tester has become all the more critical. No company will give itself a leverage to bring out a game in the commercial market without being robustly tested by the Game testers. If done, that would lead to a serious dent on the goodwill and image of the company, a virtue which takes years to develop and hence bring customers to buy a product. Game testing jobs attract high pays and with the growth rate of more than 40% per annum, the game testing industry would be needing millions of such professionals to bring the end product in the market and thus satiate the need of video gaming fraternity. |
